“ASCENT,” another new Heroine Arena original series from Hidden Vault Entertainment!
Starring newcomer MAGGIE and featuring BULGE!
An urban warrior, known on the streets as The Mongoose for her fearlessness, locates the hideout of the city’s most feared mob boss. Unfortunately for our heroine, he’s all the way up on the top floor of a high rise. And in order to get to him she’ll have to face one or more of his “weapons” on every floor on her way up.
In this premiere episode (“Floor 1”), three unhinged henchmen will test her mettle. If this trio of lunatics is any indication of what she faces ahead, then it’s going to be a long journey to the penthouse.
PERIL ELEMENTS:
girl power (3-on-1)
table torture
stun gun/taser
slapping
nut grabbing
hair pulling
choking
bear hug
gut punch
kick to the stomach
wrist lock
head butt

Great costume! Great attitude! I like her in this outfit. It is different to what we usually see, but it is really good!! It fits her perfectly. Lovely. Wish there was an episode with some KOs. Good luck for future productions!
Good general idea.
However, a bit too MvF beatdown for my tastes overall but some good FvM scenes.
Great looking girl (& costume).
Bought the VICTORY version. Sadly a bit of a feeble ending……
Hope to see a bit more FvM fighting (nb. F = winning) going forwards as a film purchase option.
DG
I bought the defeated version so the MvF beatdown was totally up my alley. If anything I would want to see more menacing villains on the next video. Perhaps 5v1 on the next one? One can hope right? 🙂 Speaking of the ending, I kind of wish she was knocked out in the defeated version and then taken away in a over the shoulder type of scenario to some room in the floor. They make multiple insinuations throughout the video that shows they have malice intent to what they want to really do with her, and doing this would be… Read more »
The victorious version was only an extension of the defeated version lasting no more than a few minutes more. She recovers from the beating and dispatches the villains. This was not very satisfying as it seems to be an only an afterthought.
I still do not understand the logic of being defeated. How is she supposed to continue her ascent?
Mr. Finn, how about an explanation please?
First of all I want to thank you, Jacques, and everyone else here for all this incredible feedback. I honestly wasn’t expecting this video to generate this much buzz. As for the issues you brought up, when reading these posts our director for this episode simply smiled and basically admitted that it’s impossible to please everyone with a single episode, which is evident in these very comments. Some of you love the table torture, while others think that it’s too long. Some rave about the beatdowns; others want the balance to be tipped more in the heroine’s favor. Some love… Read more »
Hi Finn, thanks, your comprehensive response is most appreciated. I understand the need to please your audiences. Please keeping producing a victorious ending and if possible try to make it more elaborate. I can’t bring myself to watch the defeated version knowing that the objective is to continue the ascent. In any case win or lose, a sustained back and forth action would be great. I think that you have a winner on your hands.
Finn, thanks for the explanation! “Budget was more limited” … does that mean, this was not made for a customer, who had paid upfront or that you charged that person too little, can you enlighten us? “… would love to have seen more extensive action when she was victorious …”: are you saying, that either that customer just wanted a lengthy beatdown, so there was little room left to have her be victorious? Or did you simply decide that this one might sell better with the thorough defeat, the ascent-follow-up-videos and longer story line be damned, sadly? Just trying to… Read more »
The fan preferred the victorious version. We wanted to shoot a separate ending for the defeated version, but due to time constraints this is what we came up with.
Ah, so you are saying, this was a custom, where the customer wanted a victorious version, but due to time constraints, you instead filmed a version where she got beaten up and lost, essentially. Got it.
… so sorry, this keeps bugging me, and I am really just curious! So the origin of this is that someone ordered a custom with her being victorious, and then you went ahead and made a movie, where she gets beaten up. If I were to order a custom from you, is that what I might have to expect? I mean, seems like a pretty dramatic change to me, isn’t it? It just would be good to know: if that’s how you run things, alright, but it would probably make me hesitant. Perhaps I have misunderstood something here. I just… Read more »
@Just Curious, yeah I agree. I was/is contemplating a custom with Rachel in a scenario with more back and forth sustained action combat in which she is victorious. While not a ‘showstopper”, I was was planning to ask Finn to adjust the costume slightly. I will wait to see the next release before I plunge into this. I had seen Rachel in other films and was quite impressed. This series has a lot of potential in my view.
Jacques, would you suggest I get the victorious version since, from what it seems you’re saying, it basically covers the defeated version, just with her recovering and being able to defeat the villains? Only asking because I’m looking to order this soon. Thanks
Yes, you will get the complete video with the victorious version. If you change your mind and only want to see the defeated version, turn off the film immediately after the neck break. I sincerely hope that Finn adjust the costume a bit and have a more elaborate finish for the victorious version. Please.
One more time, the combat is terrific and I don’t think that you will be disappointed.
I bought the video a few days ago and I have to say that this is one of the better beat down videos I’ve seen in a while. It’s definitely the best one i’ve seen so far this year. The outfit is fantastic, the actress sells the action in a great way and properly reacts to all hits given and taken. The table torture scene is definitely my favorite, and much of this has to do with the way the villains ultimately treat her. One of my favorite aspects of this genre is the way villains can treat a heroine… Read more »
That is a very interesting take on the table torture and the humiliation in childish ways such as an indian burn. It doesnt mean that i am into it, but i certainly do understnd the appeal of it better. Thanks to DH for illustrating a different perspective which i had not hitherto appreciated!
the cell-phone-taser is still lame :-), though the rest is great.
Haha, agreed, can’t explain that one away
I enjoyed the video, the heroine looked smoking hot in the kill bill getup and did a pretty good job selling the action. The table scene was good, although it ran a bit long for my tastes and the use of a mobile phone as a tazer was a bit of a poor effort in my eyes. I also really don’t get the pressure point and pinching torture, it always looks pretty fake and really doesn’t do anything for me. Overall though, good effort. It is the first film i bought from these guys and i will be buying more,… Read more »
A pretty good film. Great combat with back and forth action. Excellent peril reaction to the blows. The sound effects from each blow was terrific, although once in a while a bit over the top. Virtually all of the blows were right on the mark. I liked the yellow costume, although I would have preferred lower cut bottoms with much more midriff exposed. I bought the victorious version but I have to say the way she defeated the villains was disappointing. It should have been more elaborate. Please tweet the costume and rethink the victorious endings. If our heroine is… Read more »
Looks great. Very nice concept to keep the series running. It’d be very interesting to see what new challenges the producers can come up with to keep series followers engaged. And to see if there’s any persistent damage. Like a heroine enduring previously sustained injuries and yet overcoming fresh new baddies.
Looks like one series to follow.
I liked her more as Lady Lightning (from another producer), but this outfit even if semi-campy yellow is a lot better =)
I think that was Rachel Day?.
Maggie is Rachel Day, or at least I thought it was her too.
I just checked…it’s her. Lookin’ good Rachel!
What else has she been in?

Thanks
Very Uma Thurmon-Kill Bill like, but with shorts.
What site is Lady Lightning from?
TheSuperheroines. Basically Cross The Line Entertainment
(Once I get pass the web error 🙂 – superb video, strongly recommended for anyone who enjoys balanced fighting&peril. Leading lady has star power and the guys are good, meaning they serve their role without getting in the way.
Definitely looking forward to the “2nd floor” – please, please just keep this success formula, don’t move too far to either side.
